Hi: I got all inspired and put some of my latest thoughts on the Torah in writing. Bear

Deuteronomy 30

1 AND WHEN all these things have come upon you, the blessings and the curses which I have set before you, and you shall call them to mind among all the nations where Jahuwah your Mighty Creator has driven you,

The italicized portion of this scripture indicates that Jah and Moshè knew that the part of the curse of the law described in Deuteronomy 28:64 would come to pass because this was a stiff necked people they were dealing with. That scripture says, “And the Mighty Creator shall scatter you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other; and there you shall [be forced to] serve idols, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.”

2 And shall return to Jahuwah your Mighty Creator and obey His voice according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being,

Jahuwah’s voice is what is setting forth the laws, statutes, and judgments in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Sometimes people say that they want to hear His voice. All they have to do is read the Torah. Obeying His voice is doing what He has commanded in His Torah. Returning to Him is obeying Him in what He has already commanded. Do you recognize the phrase “with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being?” Does it sound familiar? In Matthew 22:37-38, “Jahshuwah said unto him, Thou shalt love Jahuwah thy Mighty Creator with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Returning to Him is obeying His voice with respect to the Torah with all your heart, soul, and mind.

3 Then Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will restore your fortunes

If you don’t obey Him, your fortunes are going to need restoring. We can have our fortunes restored when we turned to Him in the manner He requires. Note: The fortune mentioned here has nothing to do with the god of fortune or luck. Jah does not cause your “luck” to change. Rather, the reference here is to, “personified force or power [Jah’s power] that favorably or unfavorably governs the events of one's life.” In other words, when you start enthusiastically seeking to hear and obey all Jah’s laws, statutes, and judgments Jah will start working on your behalf in a positive way.

and have compassion upon you and will gather you again from all the nations where He has scattered you.

4 Even if any of your dispersed are in the uttermost parts of the heavens, from there Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will gather you and from there will He bring you. 5And Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will do you good and multiply you above your fathers.

If we can get a hold of this concept we have a chance to greater and mightier than David or Solomon during the height of their respective reigns. Read Psalm 119 and you will see the key to David’s greatness and also part of the reason (perhaps all or the reason) that he was called a “man after [Jah’s] own heart.”

6 And Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, to love Jahuwah your Mighty Creator with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being, that you may live.

In Romans 2:29 Paul says, “But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of Jahuwah.” Hmmm, wonder where he got that from?

7 And Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will put all these curses upon your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecute you.

As soon as we start obeying Him with respect to His laws, statutes and judgments, with our whole heart; He puts the curse that was on us for our disobedience, on our enemies. For some of us, the enemy has become the governments of this world. I personally have also seen this apply to individual enemies.

8 And you shall return and obey the voice of the Jahuwah and do all His commandments which I command you today.

I have come full circle from ‘the law is bondage’ to keeping His Torah brings blessings. I am now of the position that the more of His Torah we keep, the more blessings in every area of our lives we will enjoy. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of your Mighty Creator,…” Respecting this, I was shown the rejection referred to here can be a knowledge specific rejection. If you reject His knowledge on healing, you won’t receive healing from Him. If you reject knowledge on the baptism in the Set-apart Spirit, you will never enjoy the benefits of same, etc. The word “law” underlined above refers to the “the Deuteronomic or Mosaic Law.”

9 And Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will make you abundantly prosperous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, of your cattle, of your land, for good; for the Jahuwah will again delight in prospering you, as He took delight in your fathers,

I am of the opinion that Jah has no objection to us prospering, in fact, as noted above, He “delights” to prosper us when we turn to Him with our whole hearts and show our love for Him by seeking to obey all of His laws, statutes, and judgments.

10 If you obey the voice of Jahuwah your Mighty Creator, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to Jahuwah your Mighty Creator with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being.

The whole thing hinges on the big “If” italicized above. Keeping His “commandments” and “statutes” is directly tied to loving Him by turning to Him “with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being.”

11 For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off.

One woman I was speaking with at Feast of Tabernacles about these types of issues had an AH HA experience when I pointed out, “He wouldn’t command us to do something that we aren’t capable of.” Two other attendees at the Feast were overheard telling each other that serving Jah is “hard.” I made a time out sign with my hand and said, “Time out! It’s time for a rebuke. I can’t believe I just heard you both say that.” It’s really a matter of making up our own mind to go all out for Him. Here, Jah himself is saying that it indeed is not difficult! Do you hear me? It is not difficult! Do you hear Him? He says, “It is not too difficult for you!” Those two from the Feast need to hear it; it’s not too difficult for us!! Jahshuwah addressed this when He said in Matthew 11:29, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” And in Matthew 11:30, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” I was shown that a yoke has to do with direction. A yoke is how an ox is directed. Jah, in the commandment in verse eleven above, is directing you to the way that you will find rest for your soul. He is also directing to the place where the burden is light. In Proverbs 13:15 it is written, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” By not keeping His laws, statutes and judgments; we make it hard for ourselves! Why would we do that to ourselves?? In Ecclesiastes 2:26 the point is made again, “For the Mighty Creator giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the transgressor he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before Jahuwah.” In Deuteronomy 4:5-7 we find out how we can be “good in His sight” and get the wisdom He wants to give us, “Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances as the Jahuwah you Mighty Creator has commanded me, that you should do them in the land which you are entering to possess. So keep them and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what great nation is there who has a Mighty Creator so near to them as the Jahuwah you Mighty Creator is to us in all things for which we call upon Him?” Some have prayed for wisdom. Here is the answer to their prayer. When they “keep them and do them [His “statutes and ordinances”]” they become wisdom unto us. It also brings great “joy” seeing Him work in our lives like He promised. Remember from above, “Good understanding giveth favour…?” Do you want both Jah’s favor and man’s favor just like Jahshuwah [Luke 2:52], Mary [Luke 1:28], and Samuel [1 Samuel 2:26]? Then “keep them and do them [His laws, statutes, and judgments]” and you will have the same. It cannot be overstated what a necessity it is to have Jah’s favor and what a blessing it is to have man’s favor.

12 It is not [a secret laid up] in heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it? 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it?

It seems that many have said that they want to hear Jah’s voice. He has already spoken to us through His Word and His Torah [1st five books of the Scriptures] in particular. Jahshuwah says in Luke 16:10, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” Here is my understanding; He has spoken to us through His Torah. If we are faithful to do all the things He has openly spoken to us through His Torah, we will also be faithful when He speaks to us via our thoughts. Further, because we have become familiar with His voice while studying and applying His laws, statutes, and judgments in our lives, when He speaks in our thoughts or in our ears we will recognize His voice when He does so. Because we have been faithful with what He has written on paper for us to do, He will then trust with us with new, greater revelations that come in our thoughts or ears.

14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.

For me, the question arises, how does this word get in my mouth? I think I have the answer. In Deuteronomy 11:19-21 He describes how we are to handle His Torah, “And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you rise up. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates, That your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land which the Jahuwah swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth.” According to this, most people spend entirely too little time speaking His Torah, or, handling it in general. I was shown that Joshua and Caleb did this. That’s why they came back from spying out the Promised Land with a good report. This is further explained in Joshua 1:5-9, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moshè, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong (confident) and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moshè My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Jahuwah your Mighty Creator is with you wherever you go.” The word “meditate” highlighted above means, “utter, mutter, devise, plot, or speak.” Let us be careful not to let Joshua and Caleb be the only ones that take full advantage of the success that is available to us by keeping the “Book of the Law” in our mouths by meditating/muttering/teaching it day and night that we might observe and do according to all that is written in it. I find it totally mind blowing that He is offering to be with each and every one of us the same way He was with Moshè! His treating us that way all hinges on how well we obey with respect to meditating/muttering/teaching His Torah. Jahshuwah heartily approves of this. It was He that: 1) told healed lepers too honor Mosheh’s command. Mat. 8:4; Mark 1:44; Luke 5:14; 2) Said that the scribes and pharisees sat in Mosheh seat of authority; Mat. 23:2; 3) Reproved and corrected men for not properly honoring their parents according to Moshè’s command. Mark 7:10; 3) Had a conversation with Moshè; Mark 9; 4) Tested questioners regarding their memory of what Moshè’s commanded. Mark 10:3; 5) He demonstrated the kinds of revelation we will receive when we meditate on His Torah. Mark 12:26; 6) Said that Abraham would have encouraged us to heed Moshè and the prophets. Luke 16:29; 7) Started at Moshè’s writings to explain all the scriptures that pertained to Him. Luke 24:27; 8) Explained that he must be lifted up on a pole the same way Moshè lifted up the serpent in the desert. John 3:14; 9) He pointed out that Moshè’s writings (the Torah) would serve as people’s accuser. John 5:45; 10) Jahshuwah explained that belief on Him could (possibly should) come through believing on what Moshè wrote. John 5:46; 11) And, He told a crowd that none of them kept Moshè’s law. John 7:19.

15 See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil. 16[If you obey the commandments of Jahuwah your Mighty Creator which] I command you today, to love Jahuwah your Mighty Creator, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and Jahuwah your Mighty Creator will bless you in the land into which you go to possess.

Notice that there is more to this than just commandments; there is also statutes and ordinances.

17 But if your [mind and] heart turn away and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,

So many today feel that they are not worshiping idols. When I look around I don’t see many people bowing down to an idol. However, you are probably worshiping an idol when you reverence and fear a government and it causes you to not obey Jah’s Torah. You are probably worshiping an idol when you see your job as your source of sustenance and it causes you violate His Torah and you are afraid to leave it out of fear that Jah couldn’t provide for your family?? I can hear it now, many out there reading this saying, oh, c’mon, having a job/employment doesn’t violate the Torah. That shows you don’t know what the Torah says. Having employment in the typical company today violates the Torah at least six (6) different ways. You can see above that Torah violations are what keep you from being blessed the way Jah has promised. You are worshiping an idol when you put your faith in a piece of paper called an insurance contract.

I was given a revelation on what it is to “serve” an idol that should be of great concern to everyone reading this. You are probably serving an idol when you’ve run out of cigarettes and you are willing to drop whatever you are doing to do whatever it takes to get some more. You are serving an idol when you move things around to make room for the Christmas tree; or, when you put a stand on the bottom so it doesn’t fall over; or, when you carry it up the stairs into where you live. See Jeremiah 10. You are probably serving an idol when, like I have, you are addicted to playing basketball five hours a day.

18 I declare to you today that you shall surely perish, and you shall not live long in the land which you pass over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live 20 And may love Jahuwah your Mighty Creator, obey His voice,

See how this command agrees with what Jahshuwah said? In John 14:15 He says, “If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.”

and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Jahuwah swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

It is my hope that this article will lead to you walking in the blessings that come with being Torah obedient. Jah warns against you, after hearing about the curse that comes with disobedience to the Torah, blessing yourself in your heart saying, “I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart…” Deut. 29:19-20. That’s the equivalent of saying; we don’t have to keep the law; we’ll have peace anyway and we can still be blessed. Jahuwah will not spare the man that says and thinks like this, but then the anger of the Jahuwah and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Jahuwah shall blot out his name from under heaven. Jahshuwah himself said this same thing when he said in Matthew 7:22-24, “Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.” On the other hand the Apostle John got it right in 1 John 2:3-4 when he says, “And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments). Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Glad Tidings] is not in him.” Please don’t let your heart deceive you into believing you know Him when you don’t keep His commandments. Bear
